Yoga

Yoga is a union of mind, body and breath. Yoga postures (asana) are a series of movements that help align and calm your body and mind, improve balance, flexibility, and strength. It is also a tool for exploring sensations – inner landscape of our body. The process of yoga is to create embodiment, to turn all our senses inward, bring us back to our body and help connect with the present moment.

Yoga & Meditation for Beginners Series

Beginners’ series is a block of 4 x 60min classes that introduce postural yoga practice, breathing and meditation techniques. Participants gradualy build awareness of body, alignment and movement, begin to turn attention inwards and connect with the present moment.

Mindful Yoga

Mindful yoga combines yoga postures with mindfulness practice, creating a form of movement meditation. Gently moving through a series of poses, we are inviting attention inwards, exploring sensation of movement and breath with kindly curiosity, working with mind’s natural tendency to get distracted, and allowing awareness of physical sensations to ground us in the present moment.

Restorative Yoga

Restorative yoga is a form of constructive rest, where the body feels completely supported by props which enables complete release of all tension that the body holds. In restorative poses we are not seeking to find the deepest sensation, but rather the deepest opening available. The goal of restorative yoga is to activate the body’s relaxation response and bring total relaxation and surrender to the body.
