Mindfulness training has traditionally been delivered in 8-week courses such as our MBLC. We recognize that it is often a commitment some people find challenging to make. Therefore, we offer a 4-week introductory training that will satisfy the curiosity and needs of any beginner and hopefully inspire to deepen their mindfulness practice in the future.
This course is for you if you want to begin building your mindfulness skills and integrating it into your daily life. You will learn the basics of technique and attitude of mindfulness practice and have a go at a variety of guided practices. Furthermore, you will receive guidance for home practice (including meditation audios) to start building your habit of personal practice and making it part of your day-to-day life.
The course consists of four sessions which are typically two hours long. Each session consists of topic explanation, guided practice, group reflection and inquiry. During the course you will be asked to practise daily for about 30 min (meditation and mindfulness in daily life). The course is experiential, not therapeutic.
Weekly themes are:
- Week 1 – Start Where We Are
- Week 2 – The Body as a Place to Stay Present
- Week 3 – Introducing Mindfulness Support
- Week 4 – Working with Distraction
